Out Of Production TNC-PI
This page details the TNC-PI printed circuit boards which are out in the wild but which are not current models.
TNC-PI models
The original design of the TNC-PI was a stackable card that fit over the top of the Raspberry PI. Most purchasers of the TNC-PI buy
one unit and use it in this way, usually for APRS. Our application, where we purchase several for the same system, is uncommon but not unique.
In our application, where there is likely to be more than one TNC-PI, the stacking of the TNC-PIs is not desirable.
Multiple versions of TNC-PI
Notes:
- JP7 at the middle of the top of the boards. 3 of 5 have this jumper. This disconnects DC power to the board.
- JP3 and JP4 -- disconnects for modem - 2 of 5 have these jumpers. If present, these jumpers must be shorted for the system to work.
- The 2x13 connector versions had smaller keep-out areas around the screw holes. Use insulated spacers!
