Rule#6: Cheating and Enforcement.
- Make rules everybody can follow, then every network member must enforce them: If we have to have rules,
no wormholes, everybody has a switch, always collision free, network configs are open for inspection, don't mix big and small funded networks, then
everybody has to follow them. Once upon a time the rules were broken because it was just so important we had that particular
station in the network. This caused a fracture in our organization that hurt very badly.
- We don't break the rules. We can get together
and talk about the rules and amend them, but that must work for everybody.
- If any network member breaks the rules, it is up to the other network members to make
it clear that this is a problem, and to dismember the network around the miscreant until
some understanding is reached. Either the rules are wrong, the infraction is fixed, or the miscreant isn't
a network member.
