Things to know

Length of a quarter wave is 234 divided by the frequency in megahertz.

Hams must ID on the transmitter in use before leaving a frequency after making a transmission, and within 10 minutes of start of the transmission and every 10 minutes during operation on the same frequency. The ID used must be the callsign of the control operator or trusty. Stations in automatic or auxiliary operation must also follow these Identification rules. If a ham or automatic station has more than one transmitter in use, the ID must be made on each transmitter. The identification must be in the same code (if approved by the FCC) being used, or must be in a code more basic than the code being used. I.E. may use Morse Code carrier keying (i.e. continuous wave or CW) to ID any transmission since Morse Code is the most basic encoding permitted to hams. Similarly, voice may be used to identify a data transmission or a voice transmission, and so may CW, however voice may NOT be used to identify a CW transmission.

Anderson Powerpole is the connector of choice for DC wires.
